The third edition of the Climate Cup Football Tournament will be held in Leh, Ladakh, from September 1st to 7th, 2025. The event is powered by PowerGrid and continues its mission of combining sports with climate awareness.
The Climate Cup, launched in 2023, is the world’s first carbon-neutral football tournament, hosted at one of the highest-altitude stadiums globally. The tournament is unique for its eco-friendly measures, including:
- Ban on single-use plastics
- Use of recycled football kits
- Electric buses for team transport
- Refillable water bottles and minimal waste policy
- Locally crafted eco-trophies
Past Winners:
- 2023: Delhi FC defeated Tibetan National Football Association (TNSA) 6–0.
- 2024: Gokulam Kerala FC beat J&K Bank FC 4–0.
The 2025 edition is expected to attract more teams and wider participation, while also featuring climate-focused activities like youth outreach and community awareness programs.
