Kargil, July 27, 2025 — In a significant development, PhD Scholars of Chemistry and commerce today met with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, to press for a one-time relaxation in the recruitment eligibility criteria for lecturer posts across the Union Territory.
The delegation requested that PhD holders who possess a Master’s degree but lack a B.Ed qualification be allowed to appear in the upcoming lecturer recruitment examinations. Citing their academic qualifications and the shortage of higher education faculty in the region, the scholars stressed that this move would help tap into the pool of highly qualified researchers who are currently ineligible due to technicalities.
During the interaction, LG Gupta patiently heard the concerns of the scholars and assured them that he would look into the matter ,
